2nd Night

More "Origin Stories"

This night we got in a scene for each Aven, Cal and Becka.

Aven, the blind mechanic, started working at his dad's garage at an early age. During his first few years he encountered many scenarios like the one we rp'd - a wealthy client brought his prize shuttle to Aven's dad's shop based on the shop's reputation but wants to take the ship elsewhere upon learning one of the lead mechanics is blind. Aven, however, does a competent job on another ship while the new customer watched and, with reassurances from Aven's dad, the client grudgingly left his ship for Aven to work on - which Aven did successfully.

Cal went to the best schools, and was a pretty good, pretty studious collegian. That said he wasn't above having a good time, and the night before a test in Earth-That-Was Literature he went out drinking with some friends - something he learned he really shouldn't do as he slept through the test the next day. Unfortunately for Cal the professor for that class viewed him as a spoiled, privileged rich alumni's son and took it out on him with an exceptionally hard test. While Cal ended up failing the test overall (in part because he corrected errors on a math portion of the test - yes, the make-up Lit test had math, science and history as well on it!) the professor saw that Cal was actually a fairly bright student and let him barely pass the course.

Our last scene of the evening involved Becka trying to pick up a ship she had ordered from a respectable businessman with roots in the community, one Honest Ben. After being given the runaround by Judd, Ben's "associate", Becka forced a confrontation with Ben who repeatedly told her that there were delays on getting her ship (which she had paid for in advance some time ago) and that she would just have to be patient and that, no, she could not have her money back nor another ship. Becka ended up "camping out" in front of Ben's establishment, a place that Ben never returned to after that night.

Next time hopefully we'll get to some scenes with Lilly, Wilhelm and our two (as of yet) unnamed crew.
