6th Night

Three Origin Stories this time out - rounding out all the Round 3's. Starting next week we hit Round 4, bigger and more connective stories that exemplify the characters hopefully. These will hopefully only take two sessions at most and then we move on to the "hiring of the crew of Guardian Angel" and therefore we'll be in the actual campaign mode!

Only 8 sessions to get to actual storyline play. Woot. :/

Our first scene was a Rufus scene. Having found work as a driver/bodyguard for the Syndicate, Rufi found himself escorting "Numbers" Malone "to the dentist." A two-bit assassin for hire, Mercedes Quick, tried to run them off the road, but Rufus out-drove her. Unfortunately in the car chase Rufus was so intent on getting away from their assailant that his damaged car caused him to be sideswiped by a truck he didn't see coming. The assassin didn't kill "Numbers", however, as the bookie/bookkeeper was injured in the accident, and she drove away while Rufus fired after her fleeing vehicle.

Next up Wilhelm Stirner arrived at the Buddhist monastery where he would spend the next 10 years of his life. Brother Tyler, head of the order, and Brother Omar were there to meet him. While Omar showed skepticism bordering on downright hostility, Tyler welcomed Stirner. Wilhelm was looking for someplace where he could stop running from past bad decisions, and he found it with the brotherhood.

Last we watched Lilly at an Alliance-friendly bar on U-Day. Yeah, like in the show. A couple of drunk ex-Alliance soldiers were there amongst the crowd, one man hitting on Lilly beyond all sense of self-preservation and another woman just looking for a fight. Lilly kept her affiliation a secret through most of the night, only letting loose what she thought of the Alliance after she (and the other woman) had beaten down the wanna-be Romeo - which caused the fight-happy ex-Alliance woman to attack her as well. Lilly survived both scuffles, but by that point the whole bar had surrounded her. She woke up the next day, battered and bruised and with a hangover - like all the other U-Days she had "celebrated."

Remember, next Wednesday we will try to start at 6 so we can be done at 9. Those who want to stick around for Shadowrun afterwards, Max will be starting a new game then.
